New leadership of the Czech Cartographic Society

New leadership of the Czech Cartographic Society

Doc. Zdeněk Stachoň from the Faculty of Science at Masaryk University became the new president. Our department now has Prof. Jiří Cajthaml as vice-president. Dr. Růžena Zimová continues in the role of secretary.

The election of the new leadership and committee of the Czech Cartographic Society took place at the 26th Cartographic Conference in Brno, which featured a number of very interesting contributions from various thematic areas covered by Czech cartography.

At the same time, we had the opportunity to gain insight into our colleagues' ongoing scientific research through workshops. We must not forget the winner of the vote for the best conference poster, which was our student Tereza Černohousová with her map "How it buzzes in the Czech Republic," which she created as part of the course Project – Cartography. The map is available here: https://tr.ee/NodsH3p6Fx

We would like to thank the organizers for an excellent year and look forward to meeting again in two years. This time at the Faculty of Science, Humanities, and Education at TUL.
